How to swab a surface correctly

Follow these steps carefully to ensure accurate results:

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Wash or sanitise your hands.
2. Put on disposable gloves (if provided).
3. Identify the surface you want to test.
4. Swab in a zigzag pattern for 10–15 seconds.
5. Rotate the swab while sampling.
6. Return the swab to the tube immediately.
7. Seal the tube securely.

Important Tips

• Do not wet the swab.
• Do not touch other surfaces.
• Focus on visible mould or areas with a musty smell.
